Brazil – Clarion to host Brazilian gaming congress

By - 12 August 2013

Clarion, the conference and exhibition organiser, responsible for staging ICE Totally Gaming, EiG, GiGse and the WrB series, has been working closely with the Brazilian authorities to organize and host the first Brazilian Gaming Congress (BgC).

The “by invitation only” event, which will be held November 18 to 20 in Rio de Janeiro, will provide international companies an opportunity to engage with the Brazilian government as the country is reviewing its stance on regulating online sports betting in advance of hosting the 2014 FIFA World Cup followed by the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
“Our aim is to be gaming’s event organiser of choice and to be able to host Brazil’s key institutional influencers, such as SEAE and Caixa at the Brazilian Gaming Congress, speaks volumes for the quality of work undertaken by the team across all of our gaming brands,” said Kate Chambers, who is responsible for Clarion’s portfolio of highly regarded gaming conferences, in addition to ICE Totally Gaming, the world’s biggest gaming exhibition. “Brazil is a very significant market on different levels. Economically and socially it has a growing, affluent middle class and politically there is now the will to debate the benefits of regulation and to hear the best practice in regulating and operating gaming from around the world.”
“This is a rare opportunity to listen to and network with the political figures who will be shaping the future of gaming in what is one of the world’s key strategic markets,” she added. “The Congress will be by invitation only and the attendance will be capped in order to accommodate the high level political networking that will be at the heart of BgC.”
