France – Partouche reports improvements in revenue

By - 23 February 2015

The Partouche Group recorded a good start of the year with turnover rising by more than three per cent to €109m for the three month period ending January 2015.

Continuing the trend of the second semester 2014, gross gaming product (PBJ) was up to € 152m up 2.5 per cent on a comparable basis.

This is mainly attributable to French casinos, which recorded a significant increase of 3.6 per cent or €4.4m Table games grew by €3.8m mainly due to the development of electronic English roulette whilst the GGR of slot machines was also up by €0.5m.

CEO of Partouche, Fabrice Paire said: “Despite what we can call a sluggish economic environment, the turnover of the Group is stabilized at €410m even with a slight drop of 1.9 per cent. The trend of the last six months is extremely encouraging since our net gaming revenue has registered a growth for the past two quarters. We can also notice an improvement in EBITDA margin reaching 16.9 per cent and this is the third fiscal year in a row were our margin is above 16 per cent. A configuration where through this good profitability and especially this acceptable result in the business we are quite satisfied to be higher by 1.5 per cent compared with the business sector and with our main competitors. The policy we applied by selling non-strategic or heavy expensed establishments allowed us to notably reduce the net debt of the Group, which will drop to €128m.

“Groupe Partouche today has a good visibility on its business and more important an extremely clean situation of its debt,” Mr. Paire added. “Gaming is the main core of our business and we are working with the perspective to mmaintain the good trend we reached during the last six months. Furthermore, I believe that we are in front of very good opportunities. Our offer meets the expectations of our customers and we still can seduce them. The casinos of Groupe Partouche have registered 7.5m entries last year, while four French adult people out of five have never set foot in a casino. This is a real conveyor of opportunities.”

One of the main successes in recent times is the Megapot jackpot, the only multi jackpot in France that connects more than 200 slot machines. These generated € 2.3m in the month of January 2015, bringing the total number of millionaires created since its inception to 24. Partouche has recently opened a Hippopotamus restaurant at Pasino La Grande Motte, continuing its promising partnership with Groupe Flo. Partouche wants to further develop this collaboration.
