France – Partouche sees huge growth in sports betting in first quarter

Aside from the on-going investigations into suspected money laundering at casino 3.14 in Cannes, the first quarter proved to be relatively satisfactory for French operator Partouche.

GGR between November to January reached €157.4m, up 3.1 per cent with all components of the business growing, especially traditional games with an increase in GGR of 8.6 per cent to €27.3m. Slot machines reached €126.1m, up 0.6 per cent whilst sports betting recorded a very strong increase, up 81.2 per cent €4m.

In the casino sector revenues came in to €107.4m, up 0.8 per cent. The other segment saw its turnover rise from € 2.3m to €5.4m, due to the increase in net sports betting revenues and the launch of Laurent in Paris.
