France – SFBC continues its successful revamp of its Circus Casino in Port Leucate

By - 24 July 2017

French operator SFBC has just opened a new smoking area at its Circus Casino in Port-Leucate in the Aude department in southern France, has just opened, as the summer season begins.

Since July 10 smokers can play on one of the 30 slot machines installed in this space. The move is the latest in a long-line of successful changes made by the new operator since since taking over the property in February 2016 from the Lucien Barrière group, which wanted to withdraw from the ‘small’ establishment. The SFBC last year changed 27 of the 75 slot machines and installed an electronic English roulette with 10 terminals. As a result, the casino’s gross gaming revenue amounted to €3,675,566, up 16 per cent, placing the casino at 152nd place of the 201 French establishments.

For the current fiscal year, the casino in Port Leucate, operated under the Circus casino brand, invested in 16 new machines, including six Duo Fu duo Cai in January and four Lock it link on July 10, bringing the total number of machines to 89. For traditional games, it offers two tables of Black Jack and a table of Battle. This is enough to boost sales, which is up six per cent year-to-date compared to the previous season, according to General Manager Pierre Bacque. The restoration has undergone a major change with the recruitment of a new chef in March, renowned in the region since he is the former head of the casino Le Lydia, Port Barcarès, in the neighbouring town of Leucate. The Bar Brasserie, the Circus sports bar, also allows to broadcast sports events on a giant screen seven nights a week.
