Philippines – Subic Bay Authority orders Oriental Paradise to close

Oriental Paradise Casino has been ordered to shut by The Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) in the Philippines for violating a revenue-sharing agreement.
Its owner, Frontier Wish International Ltd. (FWIL), was given a cease and desist order by SBMA chair Roberto Garcia after the casino ignored the agency’s request for payment.
Casinos operated by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation have to pay three per cent of their GGR to SBMA.
Mr. Garcia said: “Our consent can only be given within the bounds of this reasonable and sound regulation of casino operations within the free port.
Frontier Wish International took over operations of the casino in July 2012.
