Poland – Polish operators trade accusations over fake revenue predictions

By - 25 June 2018

Polish casino groups ZPR and Casinos Poland are locked in a war of words concerning giving over exuberant revenue predictions when competing for casino licences.

Casinos Poland has slammed the tactic used by its rival as an ‘unfair market practice,’ claiming that providing unrealistic revenue predictions in its applications to the finance ministry is an abuse of the system. ZPR’s revenue prediction were slammed as ‘absurd.’

When considering applicants for a licence, the ministry considers several criteria, including the gross gaming revenues (GGR) that each group believes it can generate.

ZPR President Tomasz Szakiel said: “It is difficult to take the objection seriously. The bidding rules are clear. You can easily determine which locations have the best chance of winning.”
