Réunion – Aristocrat’s Wonder 4 rides the widescreen wave

By - 6 August 2013

Aristocrat’s multi-play gaming phenomenon, Wonder 4 is leading the way in a wave of widescreen gaming rolled out at Casino de Saint-Denis in the French Indian Ocean territory of Réunion.

The island’s largest casino undertook a major revamp of its slot floor 18 months ago, which included the installation of 60 VIRIDIAN WS (widescreen) games. The floor has been continually refreshed with 13 more Aristocrat games brought in over the period taking the company’s share of EGMs to just over 42 per cent.

Jean-Charles Ottavi, President of Casino de Saint-Denis, says that performance has improved dramatically.

“A substantial investment was necessary to make business more dynamic and help to attract more players. New games were introduced to help put us on a par with the likes of Las Vegas and Macau and expectations have been well surpassed with both visitation and play increasing by more than 20 per cent,” he said.

Christian Colus, Aristocrat’s Head of Sales for Southern Europe, said the Réunion deployment represents one of Aristocrat’s largest installations in any French department to date, with Wonder 4 and its recently released sequel, Wonder 4 Special Edition, demonstrating that the trend looks set to continue upwards for some time to come.

“A bank of eight Wonder 4 games has been a true powerhouse on the Saint-Denis floor, still performing at 2.5 times floor average more than a year after its installation,” he explained.

“The addition of five Special Edition EGMs has been closely followed and they have now reached the same extraordinary levels of popularity without any adverse effect on the original Wonder 4s or other games on the floor.  This is proof positive that this very special game has the power to just keep going and going.”
