South Korea – Jeju’s Dream Tower to host 200 gaming tables

China State Construction Engineering Corporation is to build a US$600m multi-complex casino resort in Jeju Island called Dream Tower.

The company has been selected by project owners Lotte Tour and Greenland Group to build Dream Tower, the tallest building on Jeju Island, which will include a casino with 200 gaming tables and 400 slot machines. The accompanying hotel will offer 1,626 hotel rooms.

China State Construction Engineering will start work next month on the 38-story building which will take three years to complete.
Hwang Min-gang, CEO of the Greenland Group’s Korea Corporation, said: “We will let as many companies as possible in Jeju Island take advantage of moving in to the building. We expect the project will help revitalize the local economy.”

Lotte Tour Chief Executive Kim Ki-byung added: “We expect to create some 2,200 new jobs, and will make it the place that offers highest wages in Jeju Island.”
