Spain – Hard Rock to invest €900m in BCN World

By - 30 July 2015

Hard Rock International has outlined its involvement in the planned Hispanic project Barcelona World in Vila-seca y Salou, near the Port Aventura park.

Hard Rock International’s CEO Hamish Dodds revealed that the company would be one of the main investors in BCN World spending €900m on its part of the project.

He likened the company’s plans to the integrated resort in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, with hotel towers, different restaurant offerings, commercial outlets, pools, spa and entertainment zones.

Speaking in the Spanish press, Mr. Dodds said: “The Government is working with the protocols and processes for the development of Barcelona World. There are elections in September and if all goes well we hope that the initial process will be finished by December. Hard Rock will be one of the major investors. We may have partners that will participate with us but we will invest a considerable sum of money. It will generate more revenue for the Government of Catalonia and investment. Whatever the outcome of the elections I hope the standpoint to be adopted will be right for the project.”
