UK – GBA ST2 Barcode reading brings benefits to TITO sector

By - 22 January 2015

It is unusual to find an affordable and reliable note validator which can offer the benefits of barcode reading, although Astrosystems Ltd have managed to strike that balance by offering the GBA ST2. Traditionally a field where high value stacker units have been more prevalent, the GBA ST2 offers a cost effective alternative for machines utilising TITO.

The GBA ST2 has the ability to validate universal standard barcodes, whilst also offering high levels of discrimination with over 100 currencies supported. The product has been tested and verified with both the European Central Bank and the Bank of England.

Whilst the ST note validation range of product goes from strength to strength, it is time to say goodbye to the GBA HR1 which was first introduced over 12 years ago, and finally became obsolete in 2009. Astrosystems would like to advise customers that the GBA HR1 product will no longer be serviced at their premises in Wantage as from 1 March 2015. Whilst sufficient stocks of spare parts have been maintained over the last few years, key components have been discontinued.

The GBA HR1 software updates for the Euro ES2 €10, and the forthcoming €20, will be available from Astrosystems Ltd at a small charge.

Existing customers will be pleased to know that the GBA ST series is fully compatible with the earlier and now obsolete GBA models, and provides the opportunity for operators and manufacturers to seamlessly replace their older field product. In addition, there are a multitude of advantages featured on the GBA ST range, such as USB connectivity, configurable bezel, and push-button programming.
