UK – Grosvenor Southsea to close in August

Rank is close one of its two casinos in Portsmouth on the south coast of England with the Grosvenor Casino in Southsea to shut its doors on August 9 with around 50 members of staff being made redundant.
Grosvenor also operates a casino nearby in Gunwharf Quays.
One employee revealed that with the group owning another casino in the same town, it will be able to cut its overheads and still not lose any business. Staff will get a week’s pay for every full year they have been with the company up to 10 years.
Councillor Hugh Mason said he regretted the closure of anything which brought business to Southsea, adding that the building had potential for other uses.
