By - 17 February 2015

Praesepe, which operates a total of 160 adult gaming centres, family entertainment centres and bingo clubs located throughout the UK, has confirmed the appointment of Sue Griffiths to the newly created post of Compliance Officer.

Sue Griffiths, who has over a decade’s gaming industry experience, most recently with Embed-UK, reports directly to Commercial Director Byron Evans who has overall Group responsibility for compliance.

Explaining the importance of the new role, Byron Evans said: “The key job function is to ensure that the organisation and its employees are always fully compliant with all current regulation, including our responsibilities and legal requirements with respect to age verification and the management of self-exclusion across all of our gaming venues. This involves the delivery of best practice, the implementation of regular, relevant and updated staff training modules, and the management of current and detailed records by venue.”

He continued: “Following the completion of a comprehensive familiarisation programme which has included some extremely valuable time spent with members of BACTA’s Compliance team led by Phil Silver, Sue will be making unannounced visits throughout the Praesepe estate where she will undertake a full Compliance Audit which will include a set of required deliverables for each venue. The creation of this new role and Sue’s appointment reflects the high level of importance that Praesepe places on compliance which is central to our status as a socially responsible gaming entertainment company.”
