UK – Talarius expands server-based estate by 600 terminals

By - 6 July 2015

Talarius, the UK’s largest operator of Adult Gaming Centres, is growing its server-based estate with the roll out of 600 new machines across the country.

By November 2015, almost all Quicksilver, Silvers and Winners venues will host server-based machines, enabling them to offer customers the best possible service with the latest and greatest games.

The use of server-based technology offers benefits in terms of customer service and operational efficiency. It will enable Talarius to connect its new machines and increase its ticket-in-ticket-out offering, as well as providing a varied array of new content.

Venues will receive Playnation’s industry-leading HD Storm cabinets, following an initial roll out of the technology to some of Talarius’ venues last year. With unlimited games available on each machine, it supplies an open platform that can deliver both old favourites and new content, with the option of regular monthly content releases and promotional mechanics.

Additional machines supplied by SG Gaming will be installed in their venues. They will either receive the Clarity cabinet, which is the latest server-based machine on the market and offers over 40 games, or their existing T8 or T7 machines will be upgraded to connect them to the Iconics/Video Bet networks. With this connection, the terminals will be able to offer over 20 games, with full access to all game titles and a new product launched each month.

The investment forms part of Talarius’ wider growth strategy to increase its market share by ensuring Quicksilver, Silvers and Winners venues across the country are welcoming more customers through their doors.

Peter Harvey, Chief Operating Officer of Talarius, said: “Following Talarius’ sustained strong performance over the last couple of years, we are delighted to invest in new machines for our venues across the country. Ensuring that customers enjoy our facilities by providing them with the greatest choice of machines and games possible is our number one priority. In that respect, taking this leap towards server-based technology will be transformational for our business.”
