US – GeoComply fights for online poker players during RAWA Hearing

By - 26 March 2015

Geo-location services provider GeoComply continued its fight for American online poker players, with CEO Anna Sainsbury testifying at a presentation in Washington DC yesterday morning.

The company was instrumental in the genesis of pooled poker liquidity across Nevada and Delaware, with its technology enabling both launches and GeoComply supplying both states’ iGaming markets.

GeoComply was represented by Sainsbury in a presentation entitled “How Does Technology Ensure Online Gaming Compliance?” held in the Hall of States at 10am. She was joined by representatives of licensed operator Caesars Entertainment and player-focused lobby group the Poker Players Alliance.

The presentation came just hours before a hearing into the Restoration of America’s Wire Act (RAWA) bill – an anti-igaming proposal introduced by Congressman Jason Chaffetz and backed by Sheldon Adelson. Sainsbury’s testimony focused on the positives of geo-location in ensuring a safe and secure online gaming environment in regulated territories.

“We intend to make sure players’ voices are heard and that they are not silenced by opponents of online poker in the United States. This demonstration will help debunk some damaging and often unfounded claims propagated by these opponents,” says GeoComply CEO Anna Sainsbury.

Also this week, following months of rigorous testing and in-depth investigation, GeoComply USA obtained its Delaware Gaming License and will now be able to offer geo-location services to Delaware operators.
“We’re thrilled to receive our license in Delaware and have the ability to offer Delaware operators our accurate, user-friendly and secure geo-location solutions,” continues Sainsbury.

GeoComply is licensed by the Nevada Gaming Control Board to provide geolocation solutions to approved operators in that market and has also been approved by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.
GeoComply offers regulators and operators a reliable, secure and user-friendly solution for the geolocation of online users.
