US – Graton Resort Casino on course for November 15 opening

By - 3 November 2016

The Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria Tribal Council has confirmed that the US$175m Graton Resort & Casino will open in Rohnert Park, California, on November 15.

The six-storey hotel features 184 rooms and 16 suites.

The casino will open with over 120 table games, 3,000 slots and more linked progressives than any casino in the region. Table games will include Baccarat, Blackjack, Pai Gow and Ultimate Texas Hold’em whilst Graton will feature one of the most spectacular and comfortable high limit rooms in the US, as well as private gaming salons.

Tribal Council Chairman Greg Sarris said: “People mention that this is like a Vegas-type hotel as we’ve got all the amenities but the design, the stone work, the colours are meant to complement the wine country, the landscape, the beauty of the hills and the trees around here so that we don’t have neon and flashing signs. Instead, we have a building that beautifully complements the landscape that surrounds us.”

He added: “One of the reasons we built this is that there is no other place in the North Bay that can actually seat this many people with all of the amenities right here. So what a beautiful opportunity to be in the wine country to have a convention and where you can sit in a ballroom eighteen hundred people for dinner, and go swimming, and go to a spa and take wine tours, all at the same time. What a perfect place to accommodate conventions where there was not a place before.”

“Graton customers will finally have a full destination point experience. Where before our Graton customers could gamble and get great food but they had to either go back to San Francisco or to Rohnert Park in order to sleep, now they can park their car, they can have a wonderful hotel room, they can stay a weekend or a week or whatever they like,” he added. “They have four full-service restaurants to choose from, they can gamble, they can have entertainment, they have the pool, a full-service 10,000-square-feet spa where they can have their hair done or get a massage. During the day if they want they can take a wine tour to a number of wineries in the area. Now, you can come and stay, you don’t have to drive back, and really feel you can get away and relax.”
