US – IGT launches first interstate Pay Poker Progressive

By - 24 March 2015

International Game Technology has partnered with Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino to introduce the world’s first video poker interstate Wide Area Progressive (WAP), featuring the new SuperTimes Pay Poker Mega Progressive.

This unique concept fortifies IGT’s unprecedented leadership in WAP technology and joins the Company’s library of successful WAP products, including IGT’s Wheel of Fortune slots and Megabucks.
Players in Nevada and New Jersey, the first two states to offer the WAP link, can now try their luck at Golden Nugget Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas and Atlantic City and contribute to the same jackpot pool for greater payout potential. The two properties will celebrate SuperTimes Pay Poker Mega Progressive with a casino player event, featuring merchandise giveaways and free play, March 28 to 29.

“The debut of SuperTimes Pay Poker Mega Progressive is a huge milestone for IGT and we are thrilled to collaborate with our long-time partner, Golden Nugget. The game further builds on our pioneering spirit to develop best-in-class WAP products as well as the Company’s leading position in the video poker segment. Las Vegas and Atlantic City are poker powerhouses, making them ideal markets to offer our most innovative poker product to date,” said Joe Sigrist, IGT VP of Global Product Development & Operations.

“IGT is our trusted provider of proven poker games, and we are thrilled to offer video poker’s first interstate Wide Area Progressive. The installation of SuperTimes Pay Poker Mega Progressive to our floors allows us to further benefit from IGT’s advanced technology and transform our video poker player experience with a new avenue for larger jackpot potential. IGT is changing the landscape of video poker gaming, and we’re excited to be on the forefront of such a significant moment,” said Tom Pohlman, Golden Nugget Atlantic City Executive Vice President and General Manager.

In 1999, IGT launched its first Wide Area Progressive video poker games in New Jersey and has since paid out more than $121 million in jackpot rewards in the state. IGT’s SuperTimes Pay Poker Mega Progressive, an evolution of the time-tested title SuperTimes Pay Poker, is available as a quarter and dollar game. The new title offers the Company’s Classic Triple Play Draw Poker game play and gives players the opportunity to win the top progressive jackpot by hitting a 10X multiplier and Royal Flush. The game is supported by IGT AVP Platform, which allows flexible expandability of games that can be housed on the hardware, while delivering long-term usability for operators.
