US – IGT Sphinx 4D awards $490,506 wide area progressive jackpot at Mohegan Sun Casino

By - 19 December 2017

International Game Technology’s Sphinx 4D Video Slots with industry-first technology are now live on casino floors across the United States and in select international markets.

The Sphinx 4D game is the gaming industry’s first product to leverage mid-air haptic technology and bring an interactive, tactile experience to video slot play.

Players at Station Casinos’ Las Vegas Resort Casinos, Mohegan Sun, Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa and Casino di Venezia in Italy were among the first players in the world to experience the immersive game.

The Wide Area Progressive (WAP)-eligible game that combines True 3D, mid-air haptic and gesture recognition technologies is already paying big jackpots.

On Dec. 8, 2017 a lucky player at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Conn. won SPHINX 4D’s $490,506 WAP jackpot with a max-bet wager.

“IGT’s SPHINX 4D game has generated significant player demand and captured the attention of many Mohegan Sun guests,” said Max McAllister, Mohegan Sun Director of Slot Technical Services and Racebook. “Having one of our guests be the first player in the U.S. to win SPHINX 4D’s WAP jackpot will only amplify the buzz that we are hearing about the game and its compelling use of technology.”
“We are pleased that our customers at Mohegan Sun are able to share in the excitement of SPHINX 4D awarding its first WAP jackpot,” said Nick Khin, IGT Chief Commercial Officer, Gaming. “SPHINX 4D players can win-big while enjoying the game’s multi-sensory and innovation-packed experience, and discovering the many ‘hidden features’ within it.”

Housed on IGT’s CrystalCurve True 4D cabinet, Sphinx 4D combines glasses-free True 3D graphics with mid-air haptic and gesture recognition technologies to create a multi-sensory gaming experience unlike anything previously offered in the casino industry. Gesture recognition technology enables players to use hand movements to move and manipulate the game’s graphics, while mid-air haptic technology gives players tactical feedback as they interact with the game’s 3D graphics.
