US – Mountaineer Casino Racetrack cuts the ribbon on its sportsbook

Sports betting is now underway at Mountaineer Casino Racetrack and Resort following a ribbon cutting ceremony on November 21.
The West Virginia casino gave the honour of placing the first bet to its former casino host Nunzio Veltry.
General Manager Bill Winkelried said: “The more people that come in the more tax money that goes into the surrounding area as well as more jobs. It’s going to be a huge weekend. You’ve get the three NFL games (Thursday), college games all weekend, ending with the big Sunday NFL schedule coming up, so it’ll be a great weekend.”
The William Hill sports book has already added 15 new jobs. The Mountain State joined the sports betting industry in September when The Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races debuted its sportsbook operation followed by The Greenbrier resort followed a few weeks later.
