US – Three Pennsylvania casinos apply for three-tiered online licences

Three casinos in Pennsylvania; Parx, Mount. Airy, and the yet-to-open Stadium Casino have now applied for online gaming licences.
Douglas Harbach, Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board spokesman, said the three casinos have lodged applications for $10m operating licenses that would allow them to offer interactive gaming in three categories: peer-to-peer interactive games such as poker; non-peer-to-peer interactive table games; and interactive games that simulate slot machines.
The deadline is ticking for the state’s 13 casinos to apply for the licenses for all three categories of internet games. After this deadline, the 13 casinos will be able to apply for licenses for the individual interactive gaming categories at a cost of $4m per license.
After this, the gaming control board could then open the bidding up to non-casinos.
The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board began accepting license applications on July 11, 2018 for Operators, Manufacturers and Suppliers relative to Sports Wagering.
A Sports Wagering Operator is licensed by the Board to operate sports wagering, a mobile sports wagering system or an interactive sports wagering system, through the provision of an interactive gaming or sports wagering platform, on behalf of sports wagering certificate holder.
A Sports Wagering Manufacturer builds, rebuilds, fabricates, assembles, produces, programs, designs, sells, leases, offers or otherwise makes modifications to any authorized sports wagering device or associated equipment for use or operation in this Commonwealth for sports wagering purposes.
A Sports Wagering Supplier provides, distributes or services any authorized sports wagering device or associated equipment for use or operation in this Commonwealth for sports wagering purposes that is not otherwise required to be licensed as a sports wagering manufacturer or, provides risk management services or integrity services to a sports wagering certificate holder or sports wagering operator.
