Jamaica’s Tourism Minister Edmund Bartlett has announced that over US$4bn will be spent by investors to turn Rose Hall into Jamaica’s official casino zone.

The country is set to finally welcome its first casino hotel, the Princess Grand Jamaica, in November 2025.

Talking at the 64th Annual General Meeting of the Jamaica Hotel and Tourist Association (JHTA) Mr. Bartlett said that plans were afoot to add 4,000 new hotel rooms along Rose Hall, supplementing the extra 2,000 rooms added in 2024.

Mr Bartlett described the next development phase as ‘unprecedented.’

“Later this month, we will break ground for the Moon Palace mega hotel, a 33-storey tower unlike anything Jamaica has seen,” he commented. “Next to it will be the Hard Rock Hotel. This area will become Jamaica’s casino zone, without question. This is going to be the casino zone of Jamaica, without any doubt, and we are going to see 4,000 new rooms within that space.”

Other projects or expansions include Bahia Principe, Viva Wyndham Negril, and Grand Palladium.
