Aland – Paf gets certified as a safe and fair gaming operator

By - 21 October 2013

The Finnish gaming operator Paf has been certified by eCOGRA for its gaming service online. eCogra has evaluated systems and processes within Paf.com in order to find out if they are compliant with eCOGRA´s Generally Accepted Practices, also known as eGAP.

The evaluation revealed that Paf fulfills the eGAP requirements in all the evaluated areas. Consequently, eCOGRA has granted Paf its quality seals Safe and Fair Seal and Certified Software Seal.

Anders Wiklund, Director at Paf.com, said: “Since it is important for us that our customers play in a safe and friendly environment, responsible gaming is always prioritized at Paf. We are proud to receive the certifications from eCOGRA, a widely acknowledge and independent accreditation company.”

The seals are only granted to companies whose processes, site quality and software fulfill the strict international standards for player safety, fair gaming and responsible operator conduct.

The certification entails that the randomness and payout of the games has been checked and approved, and will be monitored every month.

“This means that our players can feel even more secure regarding the return-to-player percentages. An independent third party is involved in monitoring our processes and the quality of our site and software,” said Wiklund.

The eCOGRA Safe & Fair Seal accreditation has been carried out for the following game categories at Paf.com: slots, bingo, casino, live casino, poker, and betting.

In addition to software fairness and safety, all management, financial and operational systems were reviewed and evaluated in the eCOGRA on-site inspection, carried out over several days by a team headed by eCOGRA manager Louise Chunnett, a Chartered Accountant and Certified Information Systems Auditor with extensive testing experience in online gambling regulated markets.

Mrs Chunnett reported:“Paf really is an exceptional company, particularly in the area of responsible gambling, where it has gone to extraordinary lengths to guard against problem and underage gambling, and to eliminate criminal activity. Based on our on-site review of the Paf.com operations and software suppliers, we are satisfied that this company’s responsible gambling policies and procedures, and the culture throughout the organisation is of the highest standard, comparing favorably with measures in top industry companies we have inspected in the past. In fact, Paf has successfully set unique industry standards in its commitment to responsible gaming by developing new dedicated tools which are actively contributing towards establishing higher levels of best practice in this area.”

The report also notes that Paf maintains very high standards of operational efficiency and conduct, complying with almost 200 industry best practices in the areas of player protection, fair gaming and responsible operator behaviour.
