Australia – Aristocrat accelerates online RMG strategy with Roxor Gaming acquisition

By - 26 September 2022

Aristocrat has acquired iGaming content supplier Roxor Gaming in a bid to grow and scale its online real money gaming business.

A subsidiary of the privately held London-based Anzo Group, Roxor Gaming is currently live in New Jersey and is primed for expansion in the UK and North America.

Founded in 2019 by former Gamesys Chairman and co-founder, Noel Hayden, Roxor was previously the in-house studio and product team of the Group. Since 2019, the business has invested heavily into its content portfolio, RGS platform technology and retention-focused gaming ecosystem.

“I am delighted to see this deal signed as I feel it brings together two great companies that complement each other perfectly,” commented Noel.

“Roxor holds a very important place in my heart as the team and the games we have built, have delivered so much to so many over the last twenty years. I couldn’t be more excited for Roxor Gaming and the road ahead.”

As part of the transaction, Aristocrat will also acquire Roxor’s two in-house game development studios, bringing further online RMG-specific technical and product development talent to the Group.

Roxor has over 100 employees primarily based in the United Kingdom, along with a deep affiliate network with extensive online RMG experience.

“Roxor is a great fit for Aristocrat, and this acquisition is another step forward in Aristocrat’s strategy to scale in online RMG,” explained Mitchell Bowen, CEO, Online RMG, Aristocrat. “We look forward to growing together with the talented Roxor team.”

The acquisition is expected to complete in the first quarter of calendar year 2023, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. Aristocrat will fund the transaction from existing cash, and the transaction is not expected to have a material earnings impact.

Josh Morris, General Manager at Roxor, added: “This deal has happened at the perfect time for Roxor Gaming as we look to expand and grow through new partnerships in the US and UK markets.

“Aristocrat has a huge heritage of global success and I feel that the combination of Roxor and Aristocrat brings a significant opportunity to build the most entertaining and widely adopted iGaming solution in the market”.
