Austria – Casino Linz looking to relocate from Schillerpark

By - 28 September 2020

Casinos Austria is looking for a new home for Casino Linz, its venue in the capital city of Upper Austria and third-largest city in Austria.

It is currently located in Schillerpark right in the city centre. However, PlusCity and LentiaCity boss Ernst Kirchmayr, who majority owns the Schillerpark property, does not want to offer the casino a long-term contract because it is still unclear how the building complex will be converted.

Martin Hainberger, Director of the Casino Linz, said: “When climbing an 8,000 meter high mountain we are at 1,000 meters.”

Earlier this year, a fire on the first floor of Casino Linz damaged restaurant areas and the “Casineum” event location, which remain closed until further notice.
Casinos Austria confirmed this week that 600 employees would be the maximum number of people who could lose their jobs following a cost cutting exercise in light of the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic on the business.
