Austria – Casinos Austria looking at selling off international casinos

By - 1 September 2017

Casinos Austria is reportedly looking at putting its entire portfolio of international casinos owned by Casinos Austria International (CAI) up for sale.

The news follows reports that the Grand Casino Brussels, located on Boulevard Anspach, is for sale in the Belgium capital.

Martin Himmelbauer, spokesman for Casinos Austria International, confirmed that the group is looking for buyers.

“Following the successful rehabilitation of CAI, we have had inquiries for cooperation up to the acquisition of shares. We are now investigating with potential prospects what possibilities arise,” said Mr. Himmelbauer.

CAI has a total of 32 casinos, six of which are on cruise ships as well as video lottery terminals (VLTs) in Macedonia. For the first time since 2009, 2016 saw CAI making a profit, having withdrawn from several loss-making markets under the leadership of CEO Karl Stoss.
