The Bavarian State Lottery and Casino Administration is celebrating the 70th anniversary of its Bad Reichenhall casino, which opened in 1955 as one of the first casinos in Bavaria.

In 1961, the casino was transferred to state management and since 1988 it has been housed in the spa guest centre. In recent years, the Bad Reichenhall casino has recorded a clear upward trend in visitor numbers and gross gaming revenue and was able to generate revenues of around €6.4m with increasing visitor numbers.

Minister of Finance and Home Affairs Albert Füracker said: “In Bad Reichenhall, cultural life, an excellent range of health services and a spectacular scenic backdrop come together – the spa town has been offering guests and locals a high quality of life for decades. For 70 years, the casino has been an integral part of Bad Reichenhall’s cultural landscape. It is both a tourist magnet and an economic factor and thus contributes to the positive development in the region. With attractive events and a wide range of games on offer at an international level, the state-owned casino attracts a wide audience from near and far – in 2024, around 40,000 visitors were welcomed. In keeping with the anniversary, there is a very pleasing positive upward trend in both visitor numbers and gross gaming revenue. This is a merit of the casino management and the more than 50 employees – a heartfelt thank you for God. My congratulations on the 70th anniversary and continued success for the casino and the numerous guests, much joy and luck at the game.”

Joachim Buchwieser, Vice President of the State Lottery and Casino Administration, said: “For 70 years, the Casino Bad Reichenhall has stood for elegance, excitement and hospitality – a place where tradition meets zeitgeist and every visit remains a special experience. Congratulations to the casino and to all the employees who have contributed to it.”

At the beginning of May 2025, a regular guest of the Bad Reichenhall casino cracked the Bayern jackpot for €590,000. The Bayern-Jackpot is a Bavaria-wide networked slot machine jackpot of the Spielbanken Bayern. There are four Bayern jackpot machines in each of the nine Bavarian casinos. Electronic networking makes it possible to collect all stakes from all casinos and to distribute high top winnings. The minimum bet is 0.50 euros. When it comes to games and entertainment, the Bad Reichenhall casino is up to date: In addition to roulette, blackjack and poker, the dice game Dice52 and state-of-the-art slot machines round off the offer.
