After 30 years docked on the banks of the Mississippi River, the picturesque riverboat casino, Casino Queen Marquette in Iowa will be renamed Bally’s Marquette as part of its highly anticipated move to a newly developed permanent landside facility, set to open in early 2026.

The name change will coincide with a comprehensive $21m transformation project, which includes relocating the gaming floor ashore and introducing new dining, gaming and entertainment experiences.

The new land-based casino is being built on land near the Mississippi River bridge. It will feature an expanded footprint of an additional 12,000 square feet which is slated to be completed late 2025 with a modernised dual-level gaming floor with the latest in gaming technology, new dining offerings, a sports bar and sportsbook on the second level and an enhanced arrival experience with new porte-cochere and direct access from the dedicated parking lot.

Robin Corbeil, General Manager of Casino Queen Marquette, said: “We’re proud to honor Casino Queen Marquette’s deep-rooted connection to the community while ushering in an exciting new era as Bally’s Marquette. This transformation brings the entertainment experience our guests love onto land — making it more accessible, more comfortable, and more dynamic than ever before.”

Casino Queen Marquette’s existing casino will remain open during the transformation and includes more than 400 machines and two blackjack tables and an Ultimate Texas Hold ‘Em table and other with electronic blackjack, roulette, and craps games.
