Belgium – Belgian Gaming Commission launches campaign against illegal online betting

With 20 per cent of Belgian bets placed via unlicensed operators, the Belgian Gaming Commission has launched a crack down on illegal gambling sites in the country with a campaign called ‘Always Play Legally’ which will run until the beginning of the UEFA Euro 2021 football competition on June 11.
It details which sites are licensed in Belgium with those operators approved able to use the Always Play Legally logo. It will see the launch of weekly video clips providing answers to common questions that players may have when it comes to identifying licensed gaming operators.
The Belgian Gaming Commission said players did not always know the dangers of unlicensed sites. Belgium recently reduced the number of sports betting sites allowed in the country from 34 to 31.
