Belgium – European Dealer Championship relocates to Grand Casino Brussels

By - 28 March 2023

The European Casino Association has informed its members that the European Dealer Championship 2023, which was originally scheduled to take place at the City of Dreams Mediterranean Resort and Casino in Cyprus between June 12-15, has been relocated due to unforeseeable circumstances.

The European Dealer Championship will now take place on the same dates – June 12 to 15 – at the Grand Casino Brussels, Belgium.

“While slightly disappointed that we won’t be celebrating at the newly opened City of Dream Mediterranean at this year’s European Dealer Championships, we look forward to hosting the event at this outstanding venue in the future,” stated ECA Chairman Erwin van Lambaart. “Brussels is the home of the European Casino Association and a fitting location to draw together the best of Europe’s dealing talent under one roof. The competition builds on the tremendous event staged by SBM Monte-Carlo in 2022 and we’re excited to see the competition grow in size, scale and international recognition at Grand Casino Brussels in 2023.”

Grant Johnson, Senior Vice President, City of Dreams Mediterranean, added: “We were overwhelmed with the enthusiasm of ECA members to visit the City of Dreams Mediterranean for the EDC 2023, and we hope to have an opportunity to host the competition in Cyprus in the near future. We’re very pleased the ECA has found a replacement in the form of the magnificent Grand Casino Brussels.”

Mark Banks, Casino Manager of Grand Casino Brussels, expressed his delight at being the host casino for this year’s competition: “Christmas has come early to Grand Casino Brussels, and we can’t wait to stage the European Dealer Championship in June. The EDC is a celebration of the great talent, skill and professionalism that personifies the land-based gaming industry and we’re thrilled to provide the backdrop to such an internationally recognised event.”
