Blokotech: AI-Driven, Locally Tuned

Alberto Blokotech copy 415x275 c

With active operations in Peru and plans to expand into Argentina and Mexico in 2025, Alberto Alfieri, Co-Founder & Executive Chairman of Blokotech, underlines the importance of strong local partnerships, agile execution, and deep market understanding to scale across Latin America.

Could you tell us more about Blokotech and who’s involved in the business?

Blokotech is a B2B platform provider born out of Latin America. We offer tailored technology built to handle local nuances, payment flows, and player preferences. We are currently providing our tech to over 35 operators across the region. The founding team brings decades of combined experience in gaming, tech, and product execution.

At the top management level we are involved in all aspects because we think that this is the key to keep touch with the business core areas. But specifically, I lead corporate affairs and strategy. My co-founder Salvatore Messina runs operations, and together we oversee product and group partnerships. Our commercial team sits in Buenos Aires, led by Nico Castearena, our commercial director.

We work with a remote-first team spread across LatAm and Europe. Our AI pod in Portugal is focused on building Bloko AI, which today powers our in-house recommendation engine, and will be the core layer for all upcoming AI-driven tools.

What is Blokotech’s current presence or planned entry strategy in Peru, Argentina, Chile, and Mexico?

We’re live and are licensed in Peru. In Chile, we operate with local partners while the regulation is being finalised. We’re not yet live in Argentina or Mexico, but both are part of our 2025 pipeline. Our strategy is simple: go live with strong local partners, support them with tech that adapts fast, and make sure we are always ahead on compliance. We don’t enter markets unless we can add value from day one. And the fact that we are opening an office in Buenos Aires speaks volumes about our vision for the market.

What has been the market response to other international competitors entering these countries, and how does Blokotech plan to stand out?

Many international providers struggle to adapt. Their platforms are too rigid, and their teams too far removed from the realities on the ground. Blokotech stands out by being agile, responsive, and local. Our onboarding times are fast. We offer full flexibility on payments, content, and agent hierarchies. And with Bloko AI, we give operators the tools to trigger campaigns and personalise retention without needing a full BI team.

Which market of the four shows the highest potential for revenue growth? What are the operational risks of operating in these markets?

Mexico has the largest volume potential but is more complex to enter. Argentina has strong demand but faces currency and repatriation issues. Chile is promising once regulation becomes clearer. Peru is already delivering real results. The biggest risks are legal uncertainty, FX volatility, and payment complexity. That’s why we’re focused on building tools like Bloko AI, for real-time data visibility and operational automation.

How is Blokotech future-proofing itself to adapt to potential regulatory changes in these markets?

We operate as if every market is regulated or about to be. Our platform supports detailed reporting, agent tracking, and local currencies logic. We also work with legal advisors in each jurisdiction to keep ahead of changes. Bloko AI, in its future version, will enhance this further detecting unusual behavior, adapting segmentation based on regulation changes, and providing early warnings to operators. Bloko AI is being built around player profiling, so operators can act based on actual usage, not assumptions.

What are the key differences in consumer behaviour and preferences across Peru, Argentina, Chile, and Mexico?

Peruvian players really lean into sports, with a focus on local leagues and mobile. Argentina is more casino-heavy, with demand for volume and rapid play. Chileans are cautious, trust matters more. In Mexico, omnichannel and loyalty features drive long-term value. Each market responds to different triggers.

How does Blokotech localise its offerings in each market? How is the software built and adapted to meet the needs of local users?

Localisation is native to our build. From local payment integrations to country-specific CMS settings, everything can be tailored. Our partners can configure bonuses, segment audiences, and launch market-specific content without dev work. And once live, Bloko AI supports them with automated targeting and retention actions.

What localised or culturally relevant content resonates in Peru, Argentina, Chile, and Mexico, respectively?

Peru is all about Liga 1, Copa Libertadores, and strong local sports engagement. In Argentina, players are drawn to familiar themes in casino games and classic European football. Chile shows a strong fascination with international leagues, whereas Mexico focuses on Liga MX and U.S. sports. We help operators fine-tune their offering by market, and Bloko AI will soon enable content scoring by region and audience.

What unique payment hurdles are there in LatAm related to banking, currency exchange and payment processing?

Each market has its own headaches. Argentina has capital controls and unstable FX – though it’s improving. Mexico has more traditional banking, but card rejection rates are high. In Chile and Peru, wallet adoption is stronger, but infrastructure is inconsistent. We integrate the main processors per country and allow fallback options. We also offer multi-currency balance logic and built-in FX conversion at the wallet level.

Finally, what’s the biggest priority in developing the business to take it to the next level?

Execution at scale. We are investing in faster onboarding, smarter tools, and launching Bloko AI across our network. We want operators to see us not just as a platform, but as a growth partner with tools that actually move KPIs, not just tick boxes.
