Buzz Bingo to spend £25m in upgrades to its venues
UK bingo group Buzz Bingo will invest £25m in upgrades to its venues with eight club rennovations promised in 2025, including Leeds and Stockport.
Funded by Barclays, the investment programme will modernise Buzz’s land-based properties with upgraded technology, design and digital infrastructure.
The first renovated site is Sheffield Parkway, which has a redesigned main hall, new lounge and bar areas, digital screens, dynamic audio-visual systems and modern interiors designed to appeal to younger players. The relaunched venue has experienced a 200 per cent increase in footfall in its first week since reopening
Buzz CEO Dominic Mansour said: “Our new investment programme will see clubs across our estate being transformed. This is all about modernising bingo for the next generation of players and taking our clubs to the next level to offer a truly unmatched experience for our players. By combining cutting-edge technology, more modern interiors and even better food and drink, we’re not just refurbishing our clubs — we’re going to be reimagining what bingo can be in the future.”
The estate-wide programme will see the installation of over 10,000 electronic bingo terminals, new digital membership cards and next-generation self-service kiosks.
FY 2023 was a year of reset for the group. Buzz set out its five-year business plan to deliver profitable growth. Underlying EBITDA, the Group’s key measure of profitability, grew by 14 per cent in FY 2023. Net gaming revenues increased six per cent, with Retail returning to growth, and Online delivering an uplift of 31 per cent year-on-year, significantly outperforming the market.
