Cambodia – Donaco on course for July takeover of Star Vegas
By Phil - 8 April 2015Australia–based Donaco International has confirmed that its buyout of Star Vegas Resort and Casino in Poipet, Cambodia, is on schedule to be completed by the start of for a July.
Star Vegas is a fully operational casino resort with 109 gaming tables, 1,264 slot machines, and 385 hotel rooms. Its average daily attendance clears the 5,000 mark.
The $360m takeover is being part funded by a combination of shareholder investment to the tune of US$101m and a US$100m bank loan from Mega International.
Donaco also operates the Aristo International Hotel, a small casino in northern Vietnam.
Stuart McGregor, Chairman of the Donaco board, said: “It will provide valuable diversification for the company, with the Star Vegas focusing on the Thailand market, while the Aristo services the China market.”
