Cambodia – NagaCorp still on course for 2018 opening

The Prymorie Regional government has confirmed that Cambodian casino operator, NagaCorp will start building its gaming resort in the Primorye gambling zone in Russia’s Far East, next month at a cost of US$350m and a completion date of 2021 although the casino element could be launched in 2018.

NagaCorp has already devloped its land lots in Primorye and held a ground breaking ceremony. The first phase of the project will include a 11-storey hotel complex with 279 rooms and a 2,000-seat concert hall and a casino with 300 slot machines and 30 gaming tables.

The local authority said: “Builders will come to the construction site within the time period specified in our investment agreement with NagaCorp. At the last meeting we agreed to the end of October or early November.”

Naga Corp Chairman Tim McNally revealed that the project will include a waterpark.

Mr. McNally, added: “We expect to launch our first facility in the summer of 2018. At the moment, we are finishing the preparation of the land lot. Construction teams of our Chinese contractor China Harbour Engineering Company are ready to start.”
