By Phil - 24 July 2019St. Eugene Golf Resort and Casino has completed a significant renovation of their on-site Casino of the Rockies, in Cranbrook, British Columbia, which began on April 8.
The refreshed Casino of the Rockies relaunched with a grand opening event on July 19.
Barry Zwueste, CEO of St. Eugene Golf Resort and Casino, said: “Six months ago we introduced our renovation plans to refresh the Casino of the Rockies. It is now brighter and livelier with a bold nature-based design concept that celebrates the Ktunaxa connection to the earth and highlights native elements in their traditional territories. Casino of the Rockies renovation has brought to life a renewed look and feel that speaks to the culture of the Ktunaxa and Shuswap Indian Band as it captures the essence of Mother Earth in all her natural majesty.
“St. Eugene is committed to being a focal point in the East Kootenay, and is redefining its position in the marketplace through the recent developments we have added and are adding. The [KOA] RV park, the revitalised casino will continue to generate new consumer traffic for St. Eugene and the area, benefiting many local businesses.”
While the renovation was significant, the casino was able to maintain operations with brief section closures while prefabricated installations were fitted.
The completely revamped gaming floor now showcases design elements inspired by nature including ambient lighting that reflects day and night time skies.
“We are thrilled to launch a completely refreshed and updated Casino of the Rockies to our community and to our summer guests to complement world-class golf, hotel, RV and spa facilities,” added Mr. Zwueste. “We look forward to revealing the transformation of the casino to our guests and community members.”
