Cashpoint Sportwetten rebrands to Merkur Bets in Austria
Cashpoint Sportwetten, one of the leading sports betting providers in Austria, is rebranding to the new Merkur Bets brand.
This step was already taken in Germany last year, when the sports betting brand Xtip became Merkur Bets. With the renaming of Cashpoint, the standardization and internationalization of the Merkur brand identity is now progressing. Mathias Dahms, Managing Director Sports Betting at Merkur Group, emphasizes: “Our rebranding marks a new beginning and a clear strategic focus on a long-term future. The new name reflects our proven and unique concept and at the same time underlines our international growth ambitions.”
Cashpoint Sportwetten was founded in 1996 and is headquartered in Gerasdorf near Vienna. Since 2005, the company has been responsible for the Merkur Group’s sports betting business in the Austrian market.
“As one of the most present, officially licensed sports betting providers in Austria, we are focusing on a stationary and fast-growing digital offering with the new Merkur Bets brand,” said Daniel Mair, Managing Director of the sales company in Austria. In addition to the new online platform and its more than 700 outlets – from classic betting shops to shop-in-shop and kiosk systems to self-service terminals – the company has a nationwide presence and offers its customers a responsible and modern betting experience.
