By - 29 January 2020

Advantech, a leader in embedded computing products, has entered into a Technology and Distribution Agreement with General Touch (a premium touch manufacturer based in China).

This co-operation, in the development and distribution of touch-displays for various industries, has led to a number of significant design wins over the last few years. On the back of these successes, Advantech and General Touch, have entered into a more formal agreement primarily, but not limited to, the European market.
This sees Mike Leary, formally with Advantech’s Displays Division, move across to work for General Touch, providing an account manager to work closely with Advantech’s European Displays Team. This will provide increased efficiency and reduce the time of information flow to customers.
The range of products under this agreement will greatly enhance Advantech’s current portfolio and expand our capacity. Advantech will now be able to offer a wider range of industrial and commercial touch products, including a greater range of display sizes between 24” to 65”, more panel kits, open frame, and closed frame (including desktop style) displays, along with enhanced features such as C and J shape curving, in frame LED surrounds and narrow bezels.

Edward Price, Advantech’s European MD of the European Displays team commented, “General Touch has been working closely with Advantech for several years on many global projects. This agreement enables the two companies to work closer for the benefit of Advantech, General Touch, and most importantly, Advantech’s customers.
General Touch have proved to be a successful technology partner to Advantech and they have recently expanded their manufacturing plant to allow for increased volumes and new technologies. Advantech, with its 14 offices across Europe, provides; local sales, project management, customer technical support, European contract terms, warehousing and even RMA services all within the EU, close to our European customer base.
This agreement announces both an extension and a consolidation of this co-operation resulting in innovative products for industries such as gaming, POS/QSR, Kiosk and transportation.”

Mike Leary, European Business Director of General Touch, added “In Advantech we found an industry leading partner with top level engineering capabilities, in-depth understanding of key technology markets and a strong sales & distribution footprint. This agreement will see our mutually developed products become a solid part of the Advantech eco system, and offer more complete “one-stop shop” approach to the end user. The synergy created by this set up will no doubt take us to the next level.”
