China – Macau Jockey Club reopens as new kind of Paradise

The opening of a new casino in the gambling hub of Macau usually brings with it reams of global media coverage and hordes of excited baccarat players queuing out of the door.
However with just a quarter page ad in one local newspaper, a venue of moderate size was ushered in this week. Minimal media hype was generated despite the new venue reaching a new milestone in the evolution of Asian gambling for the reopened Macau Jockey Club Casino is missing something commonly associated with every Macau casino out there; live casino chips.
Having been closed in 2004, The Macau Jockey Club Casino at the racecourse in Taipa now covers 13,000 sq.ft.
New owner Paradise Entertainment Limited, who is operating the casino as a satellite of a licence held by Sociedade de Jogos de Macau, has opted to go down the fully automated route of electronic casinos. As such the property’s gaming floor has reopened with 180 live multi-game machines, four chipless e-baccarat tables and a quota of slot machines.
Paradise Chairman Jay Chun described the ‘chipless casino’ as ‘the future,
gambling without chips.’

It provides a new solution to solve the problem of dealers shortage in Macau for the coming years. The casino has no need for cashiers either and operates with just ten members of staff, offering a unique solution to the problem of dealer shortage in Macau.
LT (Macau) Limited, a subsidiary of Paradise, will provide sales, marketing, promotion, player development and referral, event co-ordination and other services in Macau. It is anticipated that this arrangement will further expand the group’s business and market share in Macau.
LT has been demonstrating its strength in the provision of casino services to Macau’s gaming industry by providing the services to Casino Kam Pek Paradise, Waldo Casino and Live Multi-Game Terminals Zone of Lisboa Casino. By leveraging on its wealth of experience and effective business model, LT (Macau) will now provide casino services, such as sales, marketing, promotion, player development and referral, event co-ordination and other services to MJC Casino, in which its business is resuming today, covering 180 Live Multi-game Machines, four chipless e-baccarat tables and slot machines. LT (Macau) is entitled to approximately 55 per cent and 40 per cent of the net win of the Live Multi-game Machines and electronic tables and slot machines respectively, and such income will undoubtedly contribute to the Group’s revenue.
