China – Macau’s reopenings reach 37 casinos and 5,400 gaming tables

Whilst visitation is still massively down, Macau’s casinos are continuing to return to full strength with 37 casinos now open along with 80 per cent of its baccarat tables gaming tables.

Macau Jockey Club Casino has applied to stay shut whilst the gaming licenses of Macau Palace and Greek Mythology casinos have long been suspended. The re-opening began on February 20 with 5,400 gaming tables now officially in operation out of a total of 6,739 tables.

Casino Taipa was shut down on Thursday, whilst the government has kept the Regency Art Hotel as one of its mandatory quarantine stations.

The Macau government believes Macau’s 2020 gross gaming revenue (GGR) will fall by over 55 per cent year-on-year to around MOP$130bn due to the impact of COVID-19.
February’s GGR dropped by 87.8 per cent.
