Codere Group, a leading multinational in the entertainment and gaming sector, has formalized through its subsidiary Operbingo Italia the acquisition of 70 per cent of the company Codgames, who specialises in the management of AWP and VLT terminals, with more than 600 machines active in Calabria. The remaining 30 per cent of the share capital remains in the hands of the founding family, Manna.

This operation marks a new milestone in Codere’s growth strategy in the Italian market, where the company has more than twenty years of experience. The incorporation of Codgames not only expands the group’s network of operations, but also means its entry into a region of great potential such as Calabria, in the south of the country.

Alejandro Pascual, Regional Manager Europe and COO of Italy, said: “This acquisition represents an important step in our territorial expansion plan in Italy. Codgames embodies the values we look for in our partners: professionalism, local roots and commitment to the development of the sector. We are convinced that this alliance opens the door to new opportunities and strengthens our common project in the long term.”

For his part, Armando Manna, Codere’s new partner and historical benchmark of the industry in the region, said: “We are proud to join a group like Codere, which has demonstrated not only solid experience and reliability, but also a deep respect for local operators. We are confident that this collaboration will allow us to successfully face future challenges and continue to add value to our environment”.

With this operation, Codere reaffirms its commitment to Italy as one of its key strategic markets, and advances in its objective of consolidating a solid and diversified national network that contributes to the development of a responsible and sustainable gaming model.
