Cyprus – Melco brings Grant Johnson in from Macau to oversee Cyprus Casinos

Melco Resorts & Entertainment has named Grant Johnson as Senior Vice President, Property General Manager of its Cyprus operations, including City of Dreams Mediterranean and Cyprus Casinos C2, following the retirement of Craig Ballantyne.

Mr. Ballantyne stepped down as Property President in April this year, with Mr. Johnson now responsible for the continued development of the €550m City of Dreams Mediterranean, due for completion in late 2021, and the management and operations of Cyprus Casinos.

With extensive experience in the gaming and entertainment industry, Johnson is responsible for the continued development of the upcoming City of Dreams Mediterranean which will be the largest Integrated Resort (IR) in Europe and the management and operations of Cyprus Casinos. Both combine the unparalleled savoir faire of Melco in guest experience in strict compliance with Cyprus legislation and regulations. The IR will help further the goal of transforming Cyprus into a year-round destination for business and leisure travel. Mr. Johnson will report to Evan Andrew Winkler, President of Melco.

Mr. Johnson is a former Director of Marketing, Asia for the National Basketball Association (NBA), Executive Director of Destination Marketing for Sands China where he was Executive Director of the Venetian Macao. He joined Melco in 2011 and held positions as Senior Vice President of the Altira casino before working across all of Melco’s Macau casinos as Senior Vice President, Casino Sales and Marketing.
