Czech – Rozvadov’s King’s Casino places temporary ban on Italian players

By - 6 March 2020

The King’s Casino in Rozvadov, Czech, is banning Italians from playing, staying or visiting its property as it looks to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus.

The casino, home to the largest poker room in Europe, said that the new policy will go into effect immediately and will last for an ‘undetermined amount of time.’ Italy has suffered the largest coronavirus outbreaks in Europe with over 2,500 people infected and more than 100 deaths.

King’s Casino said: “King’s Resort communicates with regret to its customers that, given the evolution of the epidemic phenomenon coronavirus that for a few hours has been interested in the Czech Republic (with two contracted in Prague after visiting Italy), in order to safeguard the health of our international guests and prevent the spread of the Covid-19, we have chosen to completely limit access in all areas of the casino, not even accepting hotel reservations, to all residents and coming from Italy indefinitely, cancelling from now all the events of March and April 2020 that target mainly the audience mentioned above.

“Given the constant evolution of the situation, we will follow any new developments, in the hope of removing this limitation to an audience to whom we are very fond of,” it added.

Portomaso Casino has also cancelled the Malta Poker Championship ‘due to uncertainty surrounding the coronavirus.’ It was due to be held on May 23 and 24.
