By - 22 March 2021

Spillemyndigheden, Denmark’s gambling regulator, will block 55 illegal betting and gaming websites, its highest ever amount.

The regulator made its case to the City Court, providing screenshots from the websites proving gambling was taking place without a Danish licence.

The illegal sites were split into five groups; online casino; online casino and lottery; online casino and online betting; online casino, lottery and online betting; and skin betting. It highlighted that 23 skin betting sites were operating illegally, including four sites using the Csgetto brand and four using the GGdrop brand.

Another 22 websites offering online casino, including Easybet.com, Slotjoint.com and KingBillyCasino.com, while another four were illegally offering online casino and lottery games. Four sites including Dafabet and Justbet.co were also found to be illegally offering online casino and online betting, while two others, DF Bet and Casino Oziris, were offering online casino, lottery and online betting.

Director of the Danish Gambling Authority, Anders Dorph, said: “The record-high number clearly shows there is a need for a targeted effort, and we will therefore maintain this increased focus in the future. One of our most important tasks is to protect players from illegal gambling. At the same time, we must ensure the providers who are licensed to offer games in Denmark can run their business under orderly conditions.”

The authority has previously blocked 90 websites, with the new case taking the total to 145.
