Finland – Koukoi aims to raise the production value of mobile games

By - 1 June 2015

Koukoi Games, an up and coming Finnish game company has recently launched with the aim of raising the bar when it comes to the cost of mobile game production.

The name Koukoi comes from an ancient Finnish mythology the Kalevala.

A spokesperson said: “There are many mobile games for tablets and smart phones available for players who are seeking games to purchase or download. For gaming companies it is hard to make a difference as there are many others competing against them and trying to attract the attention of potential players. This all has lead to a situation in which players are constantly searching for better games with broader game experiences as they are making the final decisions which games to try out. For gaming companies to be able to meet the rising need of players, the production value of mobile games must be much higher. This means that simple mobile games does not anymore attract gamers that much and game companies need to put more effort into their games to match their games with the expected value and need.”

The mission of Koukoi Games is to develop games that match the rising need of players by aiming to produce games with higher production values and broader experiences. Koukoi Games has built up a team that can handle all areas of game development. Currently the team consist of 10 young professionals with experience from entrepreneurship and game development as well as from companies such as Rovio, Nokia and some located outside Finland.

Koukoi Games is currently developing two different games for mobile platforms. The first title will be available this summer with the second game to follow soon after.
