France – Arcachon officials to study feasibility of relocating casino

By - 18 May 2021

With two years left to run on its casino concession, the municipality of Arcachon, the Gironde region of France, is evaluating relocating its casino and adding a luxury hotel to the mix.

City officials published a notice of a call for competition on May 1 for a ‘diagnostic, feasibility and programming study relating to a reconfiguration project for the buildings of the Casino and the Palais des congress for the realization of a real estate complex made up of a casino of games, a palace conferences and a luxury hotel. The objective of this mission is to determine the technical, economic, commercial, legal and functional feasibility of this project.’

The desire to move the casino comes up regularly. The last time such a project was mentioned was in October 2017, before relaunching a new public service delegation, in 2018. The Partouche group was granted a five year licence that runs out on December 31, 2023.
