France – Circus Casino France increases ownership of Casino Allevard

By - 29 August 2019

The Circus Casino France group will soon have a new establishment under its belt. Its Chief Executive, Sébastien Leclercq, has confirmed that the subsidiary of the Belgian group Ardent had taken over almost all the capital of the independent casino of Allevard (Isère), whose Lionel Le Flohic was the CEO since September 2009.

The municipal council of the municipality had agreed to this change of shareholding, at its meeting in mid-July.

Casino Allevard was ranked in 150th place in terms of GGR out of the 201 French casinos, at the end of the 2017 to 2018 fiscal year, with gross proceeds of E3,878,026, down 10.63 per cent. The operating company Financière d’Allevard recorded a loss of E397,700 in 2017 to 2018, with a turnover of E2,770,800, down 10,75 per cent year-on-year.

The takeover will take place by the end of the year, with the casino rebranding as a Circus, similarly to the casinos in Briancon, Carnac and Port-Leucate. Philippe Escuer, General Manager of the Briançon property will hold the same position at Allevard. In addition, the Circus Casino France group is completing work on its Paris gaming club with the opening scheduled before the end of the summer, probably in September.
