France – Circus Groupe appoints Sébastien Larrieu as Director
By Phil - 24 July 2023
Sébastien Larrieu, who has been working in the French casino sector for more than 22 years, has been appointed by the Circus Group as Director at its Balaruc-les-Bains casino in Hérault.
Mr. Larrieu spent a large part of his career within the Barrière group, notably in Cassis (Bouches-du-Rhône), Carry-le-Rouet (Bouches-du-Rhône), Trouville-sur-Mer (Calvados) or Carnac (Morbihan), an establishment bought by Circus Casino France in 2016, via the SFBC group, before then taking it over directly.
“I am delighted to be back with the Circus Casino France group, with which I have already worked for two years, when it took over the operation of the Carnac casino. The human values of this group are real and that is very important to me”, said Larrieu. “Circus is an ambitious, dynamic group, present internationally, as well as in online gaming, a sector in which it is the leader. It is also a group within which relations with the management teams are fluid and where I will have autonomy,” he adds.
His aim is ‘to improve the performance of this beautiful establishment within which dynamic and talented teams evolve.’
As for the management of Circus Casinos France, it is delighted to have been able to attract a recruit of this caliber to complete its talented team: “Sébastien has considerable experience in the casino sector, since he has managed establishments of varying sizes, in various French regions. He also has certain skills in terms of human resources and has the qualities of a leader, dynamism and initiative that will allow the Circus casino in Balaruc-les-Bains to regain new momentum,” said Sébastien Leclercq.
The general manager of the Circus Casino France group considers that the arrival of the new director responsible for the banks of the Thau pond will breathe new energy which will allow the casino to relaunch and easily exceed €10m in gross gaming revenue in a region with great potential.
The Balaruc-sur-Mer casino has 125 slot machines, 24 electronic English roulette stations and four gaming tables: an English roulette, two Black Jack and an Ultimate Texas Hold’em Poker. At the end of the 2021-2022 financial year, this establishment recorded a gross gaming product of €9.9m, which allowed it to reach 86th place in the French casino ranking.
