France – Partouche confirms electronic gaming now available at all its French casinos

French casino giant Groupe Partouche has confirmed the reopening of all of its 38 French casinos on May 19 although only slot machines and electronic forms of table games are accessible.

French casinos are reopening at 35 per cent of capacity, closing at 9 p.m. under the curfew with catering only be allowed on the terrace.

Partouche said: “On this first day and from the opening, many customers enthusiastically returned to the casinos, while respecting the restrictions imposed and barrier gestures. In fact, following the decisions taken by the Government and taking into account a gradual lifting of the restrictive measures, the operation of the casinos will resume under the following conditions:

Capacity could rise to 50 per cent on June 9, opening until 11 p.m. with interior catering areas open again, with a limit of six people per table. From June 30 the general lifting of the curfew and reception gauges is expected. Customers will be greeted under usual conditions with respect for barrier gestures (wearing a mask, physical distancing, etc.). In the event of a localized deterioration in the health situation, this schedule may be revised in the territories concerned.

Abroad, Swiss casinos reopened on April 19 without a curfew but with some restrictions (10 m² per person, no catering, smoking ban in smoking rooms). The casino of Djerba in Tunisia, after a week of closure, reopened May 17 and respects a curfew at 10 p.m. The casino in Ostend in Belgium, will reopen on June 9 according to terms that remain to be defined.
