France – Tranchant to relocate Pau licence

By - 23 December 2016

The Tranchant group will be relocating its Pau casino licence from Palais Beaumont, in the heart of the southwestern city to a brand new building, in an industrial zone north of the city.

The relocation has now been approved by the Pau (Pyrenees-Atlantiques) municipal council and will be completed by the end of 2019. Tranchant has been given a 20 year extension on the licence.
The 1,852 m2 occupied by the present casino in the Palais Beaumont had become too small for the SAS Pau Loisirs and had prevented any development. It also suffered from a lack of parking and accessibility. The new casino will be housed in a more commercial area, Parkway 2, close to important communication routes, such as the A64 motorway, La Pyrénéenne. It will also have two large parking areas on either side of the casino.

The future 5,000 m2 casino will cost €11m. The city of Pau has agreed to reduce the municipal levy from 15 to 10 per cent as part of the deal.

Construction work will start in April 2018 and will end in October 2019 with the casino opening in November.
