G2E – Gamblit bringing virtual reality apocalypse to G2E

By - 19 September 2016

Gamblit Gaming has partnered with Phosphor Games in a collaboration set to bring the virtual reality of the Brookhaven Experiment on the HTC Vive to the casino floor.

The Brookhaven Experiment is a horror shoot ‘em up and one of the most successful VR launches. Players have to use the weapons and tools provided to survive ever more terrifying waves of horrific monsters in an attempt to figure out what caused the beginning of the end of the world, and, if they’re strong enough, stop it from happening. Players need to keep their head on a swivel, upgrade their equipment, shoot, and if all else fails pistol whip their way through the monster hoards to survive one more day.

The gambling element is simple. Players are rewarded for their accuracy, their kills and of course how long they stay alive. If a player has a level of skill for a game, Gamblit’s model would see them lose between ten and 15 per cent of the money they spend over time, making gambling much more of an entertainment experience
Phosphor and Gamblit plan to build a Virtual Reality Cube or VRC to locate on the casino floor, allowing players to combine VR with placing bets. Gamblit is looking to see how operators respond at G2E Las Vegas. The VRC will feature a HTC Vive virtual reality headset and a first ever gamblified hit VR game with betting stations for spectators – turning VR into a spectator sport. The plan is for customers viewing a game around the VRC to be able to place bets on a player’s performance or health level and certain aspects of the game play via a tablet.

Zombies, featuring makeup from the team behind The Walking Dead, will be roaming the Gamblit booth while attendees check out Gamblit’s newest titles like the 60+ million downloaded Into The Dead, 35+m downloaded Catapult King and the 2015 Best Of Show winner and fan-favourite Gamblit Poker.

Gamblit will also be debuting its groundbreaking E-Sports platform called G-Sports with a soon to be announced smash game playable for prizes awarded to top scores on the leaderboard.

A brand new physical table game will be unveiled, the first of a new product line, with fast paced social gameplay elements adding a boost of excitement to traditional table games

Gamblit has already developed games such as Police Pooches vs. Zombie Cats, Lucky Words, which allows users to play a familiar word game, but with the ability to place bets within the game, Beers Behiving badly, where a bear is hungry for honey and he needs to break the honeycombs to fill up his honeypot.

Other gambling/ skill-based hybrids include Slice of Cake where players, Slice the right ingredients to make cakes, Raze, a turn based strategy game where players conquer the world and defeat their opponents, Match 3volution, a charming matching game, where players can win cash by matching and evolving a variety of cute creatures in two different environments and CashPop where players pop balloons to win prizes.
