Germany – Attendance at Baden-Württemberg’s casinos edging back up

By - 21 July 2022

Fewer people visited Baden-Württemberg’s casinos in Baden-Baden, Stuttgart and Constance in the first months of the current year than before the pandemic.

Almost 39,000 people visited the Baden-Baden casino in the first quarter, down from 64,874 in 2019, in Stuttgart there were almost 49,000, down from 71,614 in 2019 and in Konstanz about 11,500 visitors, down from 25,713 in 2019.

However, the figures are only of limited significance, as corona restrictions were still in place at the beginning of this year. Meanwhile, the numbers are at a very decent level, said Baden-Baden’s casino director Thomas Schindler.

The gross gaming income of the three casinos fell after a record result in 2019 in the amount of around €107m to about €63m in 2020 and to almost €47m last year, as a spokesman said. In the first quarter of the current year, the gross gaming revenue for the three casinos amounted to €21.2m, down from €27.5m in 2019.
