Germany – Gauselmann wins temporary reprieve in bid to keep XTiP Sportwetten Shops open in Bremen

Even before filing the constitutional complaint against the Bremen Gambling Act, XTiP Sportwetten Shops GmbH filed a lawsuit against the refusal to continue operating its sports betting offices in Bremen from 01.07.2023. The Bremen Interior Authority has not yet issued any permits for their opening beyond June 30, 2023.
The Administrative Court of the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen has now ordered the suspensive effect of the lawsuits of XTiP Sportwetten Shops GmbH in interim legal protection proceedings. As a result of this decision, the three XTiP sports betting shops at the Bremen locations Bahnhofsplatz 29-31, Kirchhuchtinger Landstraße 49 and Zur Vegesacker Fähr 2 may remain open for the time being until a decision is made in the main proceedings.
